This is the sort of place I imagine old-money people from DC must patronize. I’ll bet no one under 45 has even heard of it, but I’ll also bet the place is solidly booked for months. I know that I shall probably never enjoy a $12 shrimp cocktail at the Essy’s Carriage House, nor sip the stately onion soup. Alas.
